Remnants—365 Project, January 5
The mundane event is very precious to me. I hear all the time that photography should capture something unique, something special, something never seen before. Yet, I find photography helps me be more attentive of the simple moments, to enjoy the every day event rather than constantly seeking out some great transcendental other. The moments that fill our lives are already luminous and sublime.
My great hope with this project is that I will learn how to craft that vision, that experience. How can I capture in an image the blissful experience of the average moment? How can I use the light-sensing box strapped around my neck to communicate an experience where every one and every thing feels like a liminal space—between consciousness, and consciousness. A great yoga teacher characterized it as, “every where looking, god seeing.“
