Sophomores are just starting to travel with Marlowe up the river in Conrad's Heart of Darkness. Simultaneously, we're preparing to present our synthesis thesis to our writing workshop groups. In very short order, we'll be drafting out the collaborative essay for our second big assignment of the year.

Juniors are getting the feeling that the deck might be stacked against Jurgis in Sinclair's The Jungle. Some of us are going to have the opportunity to re-write the Declaration of Independence as a rap, in homage to Hamilton the musical. We also have a big essay coming up in just another week.

Seniors have wrapped up Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and will shortly begin her Oryx and Crake. As we gather our breath after what has been weeks of heavy work, we prepare to take another plunge, to dive deep again.
